Program Description

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply specialized knowledge and skills, along with experience in leadership and management, across a range of enterprise and industry contexts.

Individuals at this level use initiative and judgment to plan and implement various leadership and management functions, with accountability for personal and team outcomes within broad parameters. They employ cognitive and communication skills to identify, analyze, and synthesize information from a variety of sources and transfer their knowledge to others. Additionally, they utilize creative or conceptual skills to express ideas and perspectives or to respond to complex problems.

Age Requirements
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be eligible for enrollment.
Duration
This qualification is expected to be completed in one year. It will include 44 weeks of training and assessment spread over four study periods of 11 weeks each, along with a total of 8 weeks of study breaks interspersed between the study periods.

Prospective learners will primarily be international students who may possess qualifications from different educational disciplines (Diploma or Advanced Diploma level) but seek to further develop their skills across a wide range of business functions, with the specific goal of preparing them for the workforce. These learners may be looking to acquire the skills needed to join or rejoin the workforce, secure better employment opportunities, transition into a new career, or gain additional skills in their current career.
Pathways Into The Qualification
Individuals can enroll in the Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management if they possess the BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management.
Pathways From The Qualification
Students who complete this course may choose to continue their education with a bachelor’s program.
Employment Pathways From The Qualification
Employment may include, but is not limited to, professionals, managers, and community and personal service workers.

This course at Australian School of Business and Trade will be delivered face to face in the classroom.

Entry Requirements

Academic Requirement

To enter this qualification, applicants should have successfully completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma from the BSB Training Package (either current or superseded equivalent versions),

or
they should have two years of equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience in an operational or leadership role within an enterprise.

English Requirement

A minimum IELTS score of 5.5 or an equivalent is required. For equivalency of various English language proficiency tests and other forms of equivalency, please refer to the Student Handbook.
Alternatively, applicants may meet the requirement with a minimum of two years of study at an AQF Level 4 or higher completed in Australia.

Age Requirement

Students must be a minimum age of 18 years or above at the time of course commencement.

Language Literacy & Numeracy Requirement

All students will be required to complete an LLN assessment prior to the commencement of the course. ASBT utilizes the LLN Robot platform for this assessment. All reports, training supplements, and recommendations are generated by the LLN Robot system after comparing the learner’s ACSF spiky profile to the profile of the course.

Other Requirements

To work on assessments, tasks, and self-study, all learners are expected to have access to a laptop or computer with a Windows operating system and office applications such as Microsoft Word at their own cost. Where necessary, ASBT will provide access to computers or laptops through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) established with an external IT company.
