Program Description

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply knowledge, practical skills, and experience in leadership and management across various enterprise and industry contexts.

Individuals at this level demonstrate initiative and judgment in planning, organizing, implementing, and monitoring their own workload and that of others. They utilize communication skills to support individuals and teams in meeting organizational or enterprise requirements.

Additionally, they may plan, design, implement, and evaluate solutions to unpredictable problems, as well as identify, analyze, and synthesize information from diverse sources.

Age Requirements
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be eligible for enrollment.
Duration

This qualification is expected to be completed in one year (52 weeks). This includes 44 weeks of training and assessment, spread over four study periods of 11 weeks each, along with a total of eight weeks of study break periods interspersed between the study periods.

Who Can Enrol
The intended participants for this program are international applicants aged 18 and older who are seeking to pursue a career in a management role.
Pathways Into The Qualification
Individuals can enrol in the Diploma of Leadership & Management even if they have minimal or no vocational experience and do not possess a lower-level qualification.
Pathways From The Qualification
Students who complete this course may choose to further their education by enrolling in the BSB60420 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management with ASBT.
Employment Pathways From The Qualification
This qualification provides a pathway to employment in various roles, including managers, professionals, and clerical and administrative positions across diverse organizations.
Learning Environment
This course at Australian School of Business and Trade will be delivered face to face in the classroom.
Entry Requirements

There are no formal prerequisites required for entry into the Diploma of Leadership and Management. However, students enrolling in this course at ASBT must meet the following entry requirements:

Academic Requirement

Satisfactory completion of Australian Year 12 or its equivalent is required. For international students, satisfactory completion of studies in the applicant’s home country that are equivalent to an Australian Year 12 qualification is necessary for entry into all qualifications.

English Requirement

Minimum IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent*. For equivalency of various English Languages proficiency testing, and other forms of equivalency please refer to the Student handbook

A minimum of two (2) years of study at an AQF Level 4 or higher completed in Australia

Age Requirement

Students must be a minimum age of 18 years or above at the time of course commencement.

Language Literacy & Numeracy Requirement

All students will be required to complete an LLN assessment prior to the commencement of the course. ASBT utilizes the LLN Robot platform for this assessment. All reports, training supplements, and recommendations are generated by the LLN Robot system after comparing the learner’s ACSF spiky profile to the profile of the course.

Other Requirements

For students to work on assessments, tasks and self-study all learners are expected to have access to a laptop or computer with Windows operating system and office application like Microsoft word at their own cost.

Where needed, ASBT will provide access to computers/laptops, through an MoU setup with an external IT company.

Recognition For Prior Learning

Learners will have the opportunity to have their competencies from prior learning and work experience recognized in this qualification through the following arrangements:

Credit Transfer

If a certificate accompanied by a statement of results or a statement of attainment is provided and verified, ASBT will initiate a credit transfer process for the relevant units as outlined in the training plan.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Students can also seek recognition by presenting relevant evidence to their trainer or enrolment officer, as detailed in ASBT’s RPL kit for this qualification. If recognition is granted, the student’s overall duration of study will be adjusted, and a schedule of exemptions will be provided.
